In an effort to recognize the phenomenal 60 year success of the Oyster River High School Soccer program, Paul Bamford, OR’s golf coach and soccer alum, is organizing a celebratory weekend of soccer to be held September 24-25, 2021 at the high school. The event is doubling as a fundraiser for the proposed press box/sound system ($175,000+) to be attached to the newly installed bleachers.
“The Voice of the Boston Bruins” and former OR/UNH soccer star Jack Edwards will serve as MC. Thanks, Jack!
To commemorate the weekend, we’re offering a unique event T-shirt, co-designed by Elijah Edwards, Jack’s son (front of shirt), along with Wolfe Ramsay, a star member of this year’s OR basketball team (back of shirt). T-shirts can be ordered separately for $25. All orders are on-line only, to be picked up at event. Registration instructions for attendance and game/food ticket purchase are included below. We hope you can attend and make it a weekend to remember! If not, please make a donation for the press box campaign in the registration section. Thank you!
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24
Festivities begin on Friday night at 7 pm with former OR Championship Coach Charlie Crull hosting joint boys/girls alumni small sided games within a mini-tournament, called the Alumni Cup, to be held under the lights. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25
Saturday’s celebration begins with a youth clinic at the high school field, running from 9-11:00 a.m., for ages 9-14, hosted by OR High’s boys and girls coaches, Akan Ekanem and Cyd Scarano, assisted by players from OR boys and girls high school teams. The clinic fee is $25 pp and $5 for every additional family member. A weekend commemorative sticker is included with registration.
The varsity and junior varsity girls team lead off the afternoon games, starting concurrently at 2 pm, battling nearby rival Coe-Brown.
